Class of 2020 – we got there!

It might not be how they imagined spending the final few weeks at university but they got there! Congratulations to all of our students for adapting to these exceptional circumstances and finishing their coursework from home.

We would especially like to acknowledge our fantastic final year students who have had a very different end to their course than any of us would have imagined. We are sad not to have had our usual celebration at the end of term but we were so happy to catch up remotely on Zoom and hear about how they’ve all been getting on. We heard about new exercise regimes, spending time at home with family and pets, discovering local surroundings, digital quizzes, short courses and lots more!

Wishing all of our students and soon to be graduates all the best for the summer ahead. We look forward to hearing and sharing what they’ve been up to.

It’s a challenging time for graduates in an uncertain job market but we have no doubt that we’ll be hearing about some of their successes soon.

Impromptu photoshoot

What better way to start the week than with an impromptu photoshoot? Here’s a behind the scenes glimpse of our fabulous first years bringing some serious Hollywood glamour to the studio for their window display project!

70’s Style by Thea Porter

Thea Porter

We had a fantastic time in London last week (a little sad it’s all over – until next year anyway). Here are some photos of the Thea Porter exhibit at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London, showcasing topical 70’s style.

London Fashion Weekend

Mulberry

Happy Monday!

This is an exciting week at the Fashion Place because tomorrow we’re setting off bright and early to London Fashion Weekend, with our second year and Masters students!

We’ve been watching the coverage all weekend and are especially enjoying Mulberry’s new designs (we’ve fallen in love with their Roxette in Rose Petal Shearling) and those of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi!

We’re particularly looking forward to the Guy Bourdin photography exhibition at Somerset House. Watch this space for highlights from our trip!

Happy Valentine’s weekend!

Happy Friday!

We just picked up some fabulous and unique Valentine’s Day goodies designed by some of our Product Design students at Gray’s School of Art who’ve set up a stall in the Aberdeen Business School atrium. All for a very good cause ❤

Have a lovely weekend! ❤

“Charity Chic” Project Launch

Money

Today is the launch of our annual “Charity Chic” fashion exhibition project!

Our Fashion Management, Event Management and Public Relations students will be split into 12 teams and assigned a charity. Their task is to source an outfit from their designated charity shop and design an exhibition space to showcase their garment, promote the charity, and which ties in with the overarching theme of Aberdeen Business School’s 50th anniversary celebrations! The students will work together to plan a creative launch night event to take place on Thursday the 16th of April and the exhibition will run for two weeks from this point.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
