Countdown to the World of Colour

With only four weeks until the show, the World of Colour countdown is on!

Our (student designed) tickets are here and you can email worldofcolour@outlook.com to get yours today.

The show starts at 7pm and will take place in the atrium of Aberdeen Business School. We’ll be showcasing the latest fashions from the Aberdeen Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centre (so guests on the night can “see it today and buy it tomorrow”).

The show will feature walks which represent the world’s fashion capitals (London, Paris, Milan, New York and Tokyo) and there will be “between walk” entertainment.

We’re hosting a raffle on the night (with some fabulous prizes to be won) and a “fashion avenue” retail experience where a number of boutiques will be selling a range of products – from accessories to sweeties.

As a World of Colour guest, you will receive a welcome drink upon arrival and there will be great food and cocktails which are available throughout the evening. You’ll also get a World of Colour goody bag to take home.

All proceeds from the show will go to MND Scotland and we’ll announce the grand total of funds raised at the end of the night.

World of Colour Window

Our third years have spent this morning designing paper dresses for a World of Colour window display at the Fashion Place.

The dresses represent the world’s fashion capitals (London, Paris, Milan, New York and Tokyo) and we also have two special dresses which the students designed – one for MND Scotland and another to represent the world of colour logo and theme overall.

Fashionable Fundraising

In the run up to our World of Colour fashion show, our third years are organising a range of fundraising events – with all funds going to MND Scotland (http://www.mndscotland.org.uk)

This is the last official week of term at Aberdeen Business School so the students have some exciting events planned…

On Wednesday, there’s an Acoustic Night at Bar Below (on Aberdeen’s Belmont Street) and another fashion management bake sale on campus (we’re expecting lots more “slutty brownies” and cupcakes). On Thursday, the students will host a pub quiz at the RGU Union (with a special fashion round).

Another event which we’re particularly looking forward to is the “fashion night in” which will (of course) be hosted in the Fashion Place. The students have a Paris themed night planned which will include DVDs, cupcakes, mocktails, nail painting and hair styling. We hope to see all our fashionistas there! There will (of course) be lots of photos to follow…

A new Trend?

As part of North East Business Week, Ba (Hons) Fashion Management has made a dress from Aberdeen’s very own Trend Magazine, celebrating our fashion management students who have worked with Trend over the past few years on placement and as Stylists.

World of Colour photoshoot

Next week we’ll be unveiling our marketing materials for the World of Colour fashion show. Designed, styled and modelled by our third year BA (Hons) Fashion Management students, this year’s marketing materials are inspired by the world’s fashion capitals.

Tickets for the show are being printed right now and – as soon as the ink’s dry – our students will be out selling them.
