The Golden Show

On Friday, our third year students raised £4737 for Down’s Syndrome Scotland in a successful Golden Show event! A fantastic assortment of fashion from Aberdeen’s Bon Accord & St Nicholas was showcased in themed catwalks and our fabulous fashion finale showcased couture designs from Aberdeen based designer and Gray’s School of Art graduate, Daniel Crozier, whose show-stopping dresses wowed the audience (and us!) Students gathered on stage to announce the total funds raised for the charity and were showered in confetti by the large balloon that was elevated over the stage during the event (it worked – yay!)

Feedback from our guests highlights the fashion and entertainment as their favourite aspects of the show; the latter included our fantastic MC, Wray Thomson, the talented singer/ songwriter Anna Barton, and modern violinist, Ramus.

A huge thank you to our guests, entertainers, models and sponsors who collectively made the show a success! A special thanks to our main event sponsor AVC Media who helped us transform our venue into our vision of the Golden Show. Huge thanks to AVC Media!!

With just under 24 hours until the Golden Show, AVC Media have been very busy setting up our staging and lighting equipment!

We were excited to see AVC Media arrive promptly this morning with their vans full of equipment, which they have kindly donated for the fashion show.

The team got to work and within a few hours our stage had completely transformed making us even more excited for the show tomorrow evening

We would like to say a huge thank you to the AVC Media team who helped us today and donated their equipment and skills for such a great cause!

With only three days until our Golden Show event, we’re busy transforming Aberdeen Business School into our fabulous fashion venue. 18 Days to Go… Hair and Make Up Revealed!

In the run up to The Golden Show we can now confirm that Stacey Strachan and Gosia Weiss will be doing our models’ make up. We are extremely excited about this as its great to have local support.

Our Golden Show photoshoot!

Last Friday the second photo-shoot for The Golden Show took place in Paramount Bar. Our three models; Gillian, Iulia and Tadiwa arrived fresh faced at lunchtime ready for good fun and hard work.

Our students styled the models in garments from Monsoon, Warehouse and Oasis in Bon Accord & St Nicholas.

The photographers were Martin Parker and Jen BirtlesKelman, who produced some amazing photos keeping with our theme of celebration. There was plenty of confetti used.

Special thanks to all of the retailers who donated, and to Paramount Bar for having us.

Fashion exhibition week

Tomorrow we’ll be setting up the first year fashion exhibition for our launch event at 6pm! Hope you can make it along to what is set to be a fantastic event! This poster provides another sneak peak at what’s to come…

The Golden Show

We’re delighted to reveal this year’s fashion show logo…

Over the next eight weeks, our students will work in teams to organise our annual fashion show. The show will take place on Friday the 29th of May with doors opening at 7pm. This year’s theme will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Aberdeen Business School through a showcase of formal and informal party attire from Aberdeen’s Bon Accord & St Nicholas alongside some other local retailers (watch this space).

Fabulous at Fifty – poster display

Happy Friday!

Our Fabulous at Fifty poster board is now on display in the Aberdeen Business School atrium, to promote the fashion exhibition on the 16th of April! These are currently framing the National Student Survey (which our fourth year students must remember to do!) posters. We think they look great – well done everyone!
